    Questions

    Before you sign up

    Who is LakeHost for?

Anyone renting out a cottage or home in Huntsville, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst or Muskoka Lakes for short stays.

    What's in the free calendar?

Each town's 2026-27 licence and accommodation-tax dates, fees and renewal rules. One printable page.

    When does the app launch?

Early access starts this winter, with year-end renewal and January tax reminders first. Free until April 30, 2027. Full launch before the 2027 summer season.

    What does it cost?

Nothing to join. At the spring launch you choose whether to stay at $99 a year. No card needed now.

How does LakeHost help me save money?

It is built to help you avoid the costs of a missed date: bookings you can't legally take during a licence gap, penalties (Huntsville issued 55 to short-term rentals in 2024, mostly for advertising without a licence, totalling $35,000, as reported by Muskoka Radio from Town staff figures), losing your spot under the 250-licence cap, and expenses you can't deduct for unlicensed days. Dollar figures on this page are estimates, not promises; your own costs depend on your rental.

I manage rentals for other owners.

Choose "A property manager" in the form and we'll contact you about manager pricing.

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. We summarize each town's official pages, with sources and the date we checked. Always confirm with your town, and ask your accountant about tax.
